Two weeks ago, I released the first of two episodes on The Lit Up Lightworker Podcast about the stereotypes and expectations that we face in the spiritual community. Specifically, I talked about expectations about age, sex, and fashion.

In the second and final episode on the topic, I bust more limiting expectations, specifically about negative thinking in relationship to manifestation, making mistakes, swearing, western vs. alternative medicine, and more!

I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of being expected to be perfect or act in a certain “spiritual” way just because I’m on a spiritual path. It’s important for us, and everyone, to realize that spirituality doesn’t replace our humanity.

When we embrace our humanity rather than reject or try to suppress it with toxic positivity and spiritual stereotypes, we give ourselves more space for inner growth and self-introspection.

Reaching for spiritual perfectionism isn’t only impossible, it’s also dangerous. Suppressing your shadow self will only strengthen it, and will eventually result in you abusing it. More on this on the podcast. I have a lot to say about the matter.

Another issue I’m really passionate about talking is the expectation to only think and talk positively. The idea that negative thoughts manifest negative things in your life is one of the biggest misconceptions about manifestation, that rids us of opportunities for self-growth and actually blocks manifestation.

Specifically, in this episode you’ll learn:

  • How swearing can actually raise your vibration
  • Why thoughts do not create your reality (and what does!)
  • The times when “sending love and light” can be dangerous
  • How to balance holistic and western medicine practices
