What’s your favourite natural landscape:
- Parks and gardens
- Mountains and highlands
- Ice and snow
- Rivers and streams
- Oceans and coasts
- Forests and trees
- Deserts and drylands
- Cities and built environments
And, what’s your least favourite one?
According to my guest in this week’s episode of the Lit Up Lightworker Podcast and author of ‘Return to Nature’ Emma Loewe, our favourite and least favourite natural landscapes can tell a lot about us, our needs, personality, and healing journey.
Personally, I’m in love with deserts and drylands (I know, not everyone’s favourite landscape!) I like deserts because they’re raw, honest, and unapologetic, a bit like me, I suppose! ![]()
However, throughout my life, I’ve often found healing in all kinds of natural environments. When I was a teenager, I’d often visit an acacia tree in my neighbourhood and find comfort after a particularly tough day in school. Later in life, I’d spent a lot of time out in the ocean and worked with the ocean mermaids to heal sexual trauma.
If you’ve read any of my three books, you’ll notice I include many elemental-based practices, too. I believe that ALL the answers we seek can be found in nature if only we reach out and let ourselves be guided.
In this week’s podcast episode with Emma, we talk about the healing qualities of the above natural landscapes. Emma also shares simple practices you can use while at these landscapes for healing.
Specifically, in this episode you’ll learn:
- What your favourite natural landscape means about you
- The latest scientific research on nature healing
- The surprising healing qualities of forests!
- How to practice nature healing even if you can’t be out in nature.
- Ways of enjoying the natural environment in the city.

Let’s talk about energy protection for empaths.
The other day, I found out that my ex had been talking badly about me to a mutual friend. I had a calm conversation, shared my side, and thought that was the end of it.
But that night, I woke up with a panic attack.
Intrusive thoughts. Intense dreams. My nervous system completely on edge.
I could have told myself I was being “too sensitive.” I could have journaled about it or tried to think my way through it. But I’ve done this work long enough to know when something isn’t just psychological.
This felt energetic.
So instead of spiralling, I tuned into my energy field. I sensed the disturbance immediately — a charge, a connection, something still active. Strong emotion creates energetic exchange. And when you’re empathic, you feel it.
I cleared it, and within minutes, my body softened. The panic stopped. The thoughts quieted. The dreams didn’t return.
Nothing outside of me changed. But my internal state completely shifted.
This is what most empaths are never taught.
You’re not too sensitive. You’re energetically open.
If you can walk into a room and feel tension before anyone speaks, you already know energy is real. And if energy can affect you unconsciously, then learning how to protect your field is necessary.
