The other day I was decluttering the photos on my phone and I came across a picture I’d taken four years ago, right after my burnout.

During the three years that I’d lived in London, I’d worked myself to exhaustion. I worked a full-time job while building my business part-time. As a result, I’d gained 15kg, developed a serious case of psoriasis and various allergies, and became mildly depressed.

It wasn’t until I’d quit my job, moved back to Cyprus, and became self-employed, that I was able to fully recover.

Something that helped me shift my masochistic ways was adopting a slow living lifestyle.

These days, I spend at least three hours in the morning on my spiritual practice. And, I do so very. slowly.

I meditate, exercise, journal, do affirmations and mini rituals. My new life mantra is, ‘I do less and I attract more.’ Because I believe it, and live it, it works.

Slow living isn’t about doing less, but about savouring every moment and making the most out of it. When we live life slowly and mindfully, the Universe responds by helping us achieve more in less time. Cool, right?

To help us understand and practise slow living more gracefully, I’ve invited the author of Enlightenment is Sexy Valerie Gangas, to come on the Lit Up Lightworker Podcast and tell us all about it.

Specifically, in this episode you’ll learn:

  • What is the Art of Slow Living, and why is it important?
  • What are the benefits of slowing down?
  • Is slowing down connected to living a more spiritual life or finding enlightenment? How so?
  • In a world of doing more and being more, what are some processes we can implement to slow down?
  • What are some ways to disconnect or manage our technology to allow for slowing down?
